Stables Information
We offer private and group lessons for all riders aged 5-18 years. The stables have stabling for 20 horses and an Indoor and Outdoor school. We have a weight limit of 12 stone, this is for horse welfare. All riders are required to update heights and weights every 6 months.
We are able to offer lessons to RAA students and external clients at an affordable rate making riding more accessible.
Students from the Junior school are able to have lessons during lunch time break. We collect riders and drop them back to school with a packed lunch. Juniors are also able to ride after school, however we are only able to collect riders for the 4pm lessons, all junior school riders will need collecting from the stables after their lessons.
Students from the senior school are able to ride after school from 4-6:30pm. We have groups and private lessons available.
On Saturdays the stables have lessons from 9:30am-5pm. There are a range of lessons available. Please note we are unable to drop riders back to boarding houses at the weekend.
Equipment:
All riders are required to wear hats and body protectors up to current safety standards. We will regularly check these. We have hats, boots and body protectors riders are able to borrow for the first few lessons. After this, we recommend all riders having their own equipment.
What to wear:
Leggings or jogging bottoms if you do not have jodhpurs. Shoulders must be covered. We recommend riders bring a waterproof coat if riding in the outdoor school.
Pony Club:
We are an approved Pony Club centre. We compete in care competitions as well as the very popular tetrathlon. This includes running, swimming, riding and shooting. We have competed very successfully in the Blue Cross and Quiz competitions, with our members getting to nationals. We hold care session at different levels through the week, and work towards the pony club badges and tests. The aims of Pony Club is to learn how to look after a pony correctly, as well as working as a team, always putting our ponies care first.
BHS
We are a British Horse Society Highly Commended Approved Centre. This means that all coaches are trained to a det standard and have the correct First Aid and Safeguarding training. We regularly work towards the challenge awards, that focus on care and riding. We can also hold BHS stage 1 exams on site for those looking to gain a professional qualification.
